Brave vs Firefox containers

I noticed in Brave you can spin up a one-time disposable container, that’s awesome. Can you do this in FF?

There is code for ephemeral containers in FF , but I am not aware of anything user facing for it atm.

I don’t think so. There is an unofficial extension for that: Temporary Containers. I’d advice against using it, though, because it requires access to all websites and browser tabs.

No, but that just sounds like you should open a private window if you need that temporary isolation.

In fact, I don’t think a lot of people really need to use containers ever since Firefox rolled out first party cookie isolation for everyone (well, the more relaxed version of it).

I really wish Firefox isolated every private tab from each other like Safari does, that’s such a good feature.

Total Cookie Protection still has some exceptions so certain websites don’t break, and also if you go to a website in one tab and go to the same website in another tab in the same session they know you’re the same person, so there’s still some privacy gaps.
