Brave containers are now live!!!
This is extremely awesome and a major quality of life update for me personally.
Same here, and I’m using Brave Origins…
How is this any different from Firefox’s implementation?
It seems like something that you can already accomplish by opening a different browser profile.
The containers carry over the same settings and you can color code them for different identities, it’s kind of a convenience feature to make browsing under multiple identities easier.
Firefox requires an extension to use them, or at least to have the nice UI to go with it. Apart from that it’s pretty similar, it’s just nice to also have that feature in Brave
The containers carry over the same settings
I’m sold. It is incredibly annoying to have to mess with the settings on each of my profiles. After this update, I’ll likely just use containers, instead.
I hope they soon add default for websites. Firefox allow you to tie certain websites to a specific container. This way you can just tie all your work websites / domains to the Work Container and tie intrusive websites to a container. better, you can specify subdomains. So I have put Google Maps (maps.google.com) domain to a different container than google.com, so if I am logged-in into Google but not in Google maps. Hope that’s clear.
