Are there any experiences with Molly FOSS Multi-device support?

Is the multi-device pairing similiar to Twilio? Can multiple devices remain logged into one account effortlessly? How do calls *affect other accounts logged in?

Never tried Twillo so cant answer that, but I can say Molly works well for multi logins. I dont quite understand your 3rd question, it behaves just like normal signal clients.

Usually you will split your Molly accounts between profiles.
Meaning that you can only have 1 active at a time, hence you will be able to do everything else as if only 1 account at a time is connected.

Some details could indeed help us figure out what you’re trying to achieve here. :hugs:

I think OP is referring to the capability of Molly being a linked device.

Though you won’t need a phone number, just an active device so im Confused

I use Molly on 3 devices I have no issues. I have no idea what Twilio is.

Yes but if you don’t use one of the devices X amount of time (I can’t remember how long) you need to relink the device.

You keep the chat history on all devices but if you mean call yourself you can’t.

I sometimes has issues with group calls but it’s a Signal issue, it has nothing to do with multi devices or Molly.

If multiple people want to be reached by one account will there be need for additional devices to be authenticated after being paired?

Assuming the primary account and device does not remove permissions or change account settings such as phone number or device. And assuming additional paired devices do not attempt to access a seperate Signal account within the same profile.

If there is an incoming or outgoing call conducted by a paired additional device is there any impact on the functionality of other paired devices during or after call?

I can use my phone to make calls and use my desktop client to send message at the same time. Not sure if it answers your question.

Signal doesn’t care who or how an account is used, if it’s paired it will work.
You don’t even need to have it online to be used elsewhere.
Just be sure to not let the pairing expire (by letting it stale for too long) as mentioned above. :+1:t2:
