Are there any alternatives to Virtual Credit Cards similar to Privacy.com?

Are there any other alternatives that are secure like privacy.com? As it requires a U.S number, which not everyone has.

CakePay - not exactly privacy.com but still an option depending on the merchant and country you are in.

US number will be the easiest to get. What you can’t is an SSN needed for it.

Thanks.

Actually, may I add that I am not 100% sure if KYC is a threat to privacy as so many services for finance, banking, crypto, etc, have that implemented. I’m pretty sure it would be hard to stay away from these options if you want to do actual banking.

It depends on your philosophical bend on how you view it.

KYC is a threat when the financial instrument is tied to things like VPS hosting or VPN.. depending on your threat model.

Crypto is 100% the opposite of privacy where KYC simply amplifies the damage

American Express has a disposable CC but only for certain services levels. AFAIK gold and above.

More infuriating are services that require a non-voip USA number. I HATE uber for allowing my travel voip USA number to populate the account then rejecting it once I negotiate a ride. Can you buy USA eSIM with number where you are?

Yes I can, but I am planning to head to America soon, so not sure if it is worth it right now.

If you’re in Europe, a variety of banks have virtual credit cards as an option, like N26.
That said, because they’re banks, you’d still have to go through KYC. Personally, I prefer to be KYC’d by an actual bank than a faceless company.

Understand that if you plan to eventually use Privacy.com you need to be at the very least a US resident or a citizen with a SSN. I have quite a few American friends who have never lived in the US, and I don’t know if it’s easy or possible to use Privacy.com when you’re in that situation.
