Anonymous crypto payments (not monero)

Hello,

I know only monero is suggested by PG, however some services do not accept it. Say I use Kraken to buy Litecoin and send that to my wallet on my phone and then pay for some service, would this increase my anonymity or not?

No, you KYCed to get your Litecoin from kraken, Litecoin’s blockchain is transparent, meaning that all transactions are recorded on a public ledger and anyone can trace it back to you.

The best you can do is to ask the service to start accepting Monero or buy yourself Monero and swap it to another shitcoin (which is anything other than Monero).

You can use Cake Pay to buy an online USA Visa gift card with monero, and then use that card to pay for services. Caveat: I’m not 100% sure if the purchase will go through if you enter a fake name for the card.

If a service doesn’t accept Monero, one option is to use an instant exchange like FixedFloat or eXch for individual payments. For example, on FixedFloat, you would select the Monero→Litecoin option with a fixed fee, enter the recipient’s LTC address and the payment amount, and then pay with Monero. Once approximately two confirmations are reached, FixedFloat sends the LTC to the specified address. I might be wrong, but I believe this improves privacy since the LTC transaction can’t be directly linked back to you.
