Android private DNS vs Adblocking Browser?

Any recommendations about what to use? Should I use an adblocking browser or would you recommend using the private dns option with something like nextdns? Is it good to use both or are there any advantages using both or is it enough to block ads and trackers within the browser?

NextDNS should block ads outside the browser too, but the browser will block YouTube ads.

So it depends of what you need

Using both together would be the best idea :bulb:

Use both in combination.

  1. Browser based solutions like uBlock Origin is much more fine-grained and powerful solution, but it is limited to just the browser (doesn’t cover any of your apps or the OS itself).
  2. DNS based solutions are much more basic, but they can easily cover an entire device or network.
  3. Beyond browser based and DNS based, choosing individual apps (for example Newpipe for youtube) that can block or eliminate entirely ads/trackers for specific services is a good 3rd layer of protection.
