Kijiji doesn’t let you use an email alias or a VPN, and Facebook Marketplace is well… Facebook, so does anyone have a good alternative to these, for someone in Canada.
I’m not from Canada, but what about ebay and craiglist?
What email alias have you tried with Kijiji? And what VPN were you using to sign up with?
What would be the point if no one is going to be on those alternative marketplaces for you to buy or sell?
It’s a marketplace. You’ll have to be where the people are if you’re trying to make use of such a space for yourself.
Craigslist and eBay, although I have not used the latter with guest checkout in a long time now.

What email did you try with Kijiji ?
Ebay is not an alternative, will you ship you couch ?
Craiglist, at least in my part of Cadana is very unpopular.
For Kijiji, I’ve had luck using a SimpleLogin alias with my account. As for VPNs, I’ve noticed most ProtonVPN servers are blocked, but you might get lucky and stumble across one that isn’t. Try to get the Canadian servers.

I tried to use an addy.io alias (I have the free version) and Proton VPN.
I have also heard (although I’m not sure if this is true) that on Kijiji people won’t see your messages if your using a VPN.
Have you tried a different locations with your VPN?
I use to have problems with PipePipe (a YouTube frontend) using my VPN in one location in my country, moved to another and has been fine for months.
For example with Mullvad there’s 30 locations in Canada across 4 cities with 4 providers. Not sure about Proton but I imagine they have more location options, you could try a different location see if that helps.
If no luck, you could test if its addy by trying duckduckgo or simplelogins aliases, they are both free so you could give them a shot.
Other option would be to try a “trustworthy” public WiFi, for the account set up with an aliases if they are blocking know Proton IP addresses.
Yes, they come in big boxes, like other furniture.
You could try OfferUp as well. Not sure if they let you sign up with aliases or not though
I signed up to kijiji with a simplelogin alias and when I try to log in I get logged out right away. (Edit: I attached a picture.)

When you create the new account please make sure that you are using the latest version of the Kijiji App or of your webbrowser BEFORE you create the account and log in.
If your device will not support the latest versions you will have to move to a device that does.

Most vendors want to collect as much information as possible, for future targeting or, even sell your data. They can use the “know your customer” excuse.
There is another practical concern from vendors, the abusers might register hundreds of accounts, they use disposable email addresses to achieve the scale, vendors don’t want that. Abby.io is one of the identified disposable email domains.

Flea markets, swap meets, and farmers markets are all great for buying things cash. Not totally what you are looking for but private and supports the local community.
I’m not a Canadian and I used my VPN set to my country and have registered.
Used a proton pass email address as well. Browser I used was Vanadium for reference. Only trouble I had was after this, when I went to verify my email and I got a 403 error.
But I switched my location to Montreal tried again and was happy to let log back in. Then switched back to a local area for me and was happy to let me browse the site. Did you get this far at all when trying to register?
