Allowing HTML 5 canvas Imagedata Extraction on Tor Browser Safe?

When using Tor browser, on some websites where you might need to work with images like photopea, when you upload an image or edit the image, the Tor browser will ask for permission “HTML 5 canvas Imagedata Extraction”. If you disallow it then image or canvas will be multiple random colored image with nothing visible but allowing it will make the site works normally.

Now this same permission is asked on many sites as well liek Github, Youtube etc on Tor.

I want to ask that does allowing this permission compromise my anonymity or security of browser on Tor browser by any chance?

Good question. In many case this is used to tracking, so when a website I visit ask I refuse. But that’s for website I don’t upload anything on, since I never upload things on TOR anywyay.

Looking forward for answers.

I’m unable to find any good information on this issue. Most information on the internet about this topic is very old. For most part giving canvas permission to websites on tor browser can compromise your security.

Although some people on internet forums do recommend tails os but even then some say that even tails os can’t protect completely as this canvas is created using hardware of computer.

Not have any up to date information on this topic, hence I am gonna assume based on old information: “Yes it will compromise your anonymity”

I know Brave randomizes canvases. I think Firefox does too, but I don’t know if TB does as well.
