The disastrous KB5074109 Windows update has reportedly caused some people's computers to fail to boot , among the myriad other issues.

Omg… This now gives me anxiety
I’m pausing Windows Update until further notice. I’m not reliving this again.
Don’t hang me security folks. I prefer this over an OS that doesn’t boot lol.

Windows Update lowkey feels like domestic abuse.

I must be one of the lucky ones. The only Windows PC (optiplex 9020) left on my network (outside of work owned devices) has been on KB5074109 since 01/17 with no issues.
The computer is rarely turned off though and only restarted for security updates (which are automatically set to be delayed by 4 days).

I think it’s a smaller subset of hardware but since it’s windows it’s going to affect a lot of people.
That makes sense. Scary to have these issues on a security update. I expect it out of featue updates but not these. Maybe thats naive of me.

For sure, the QA at Microsoft needs to improve.
