Gen AI like ChatGPT is never privacy respecting. It also depends on how much info you volunteer with your questions.

It’s best to always use local AI models you can download that may be sufficient for people’s needs unless you always want cutting edge with all your questions.

If you want to use AI privately and even anonymously, I recommend NanoGPT. You can pay with Monero and it doesn’t by default store your queries if you leave a session and start using another one. Also, no account needed. As always, as long as you don’t disclose any PII or any other sensitive info, you’ll be fine.

Due to its nature, obviously, cloud inference can never be completely safe from traffic snooping, data exposure and so on. even with Confidential vms, Apple Private Cloud Compute, you can only minimize the risk.
however, if you hypothetically decide to take their own words, enterprise platforms such as Bedrock(also available in GovCloud), Vertex, Azure should be safer than their standard apps targetting consumers. at least they claim so.
