Is saying Mullvad, Proton, and iVPN are the best VPNs and the rest are all the same trash an AD?
The best refute is of course presenting evidence. Please name 1 fork you would place above iOS and AOSP, let alone GOS.

Did you watch the video? Iâm not debating which is âbestâ
Look how much things DivestOS founder has to maintain: Our Apps - DivestOS Mobile
Do you think that a single guy can implement and maintain as many features as the GOS full team with a much larger budget?
Of course budget isnât everything because, despite Calyx having a massive amount of funding and more developers, DivestOS is still a better choice on almost all fronts, which is hilarious.
off topic but I agree
Btw Iâm using GOS on phone and tablet I donât have a desktop or laptop.
Yes I did
And this was your statement:
So I replied with:
Is saying âXYZ, ABC, and DEF are the best options, AND everything else is trashâ an Ad?
The point is you donât need to collate the âalso ranâ. It is simply enough to say what the best options are, and an objective reviewer does not need to review every available option to know all other options are worse.
The issue for me also isnât âwho is the bestâ, my issue is the insinuation that âThe review is an ad/propaganda just because it didnât cover other optionsâ when the other options are demonstrably worse.
So I followed up with asking if the reviewer missed something that would be better than what they listed.
Yeah, GrapheneOS and DivestOS are the only ones that stand out. Others either donât improve the security and privacy over AOSP at all or even reduce it.
Not sure how this is an ad or propaganda. I would also like someone to explain which AOSP derivatives would also be worth mentioning in that video and why.
Your example didnât say âonly MullvadVPNâ is private every other VPNs is just NordVPN. You give 3 different VPNs with good ranking is why I didnât wanted to entertain it. No hate.
I agree he didnât need to review every ROMs that is stupid but he is using FUD when saying âonly GrapheneOS is privateâ His video Is like a AD on TV "Our product = GOOD others = BAD.
The problem for me is he saying every ROMs is the same. He never say or give a example of other ROMs that can score differently. Or say some ROMs can score differently if his viewers uses the LINDDUN system. There are a lot reasons why people canât use or buy a pixel with GOS.
I used propaganda because I couldnât find a better word at that time a better word is FUD.
And I didnât mean propaganda as propaganda is why I used ish. English is not my first language.
Then buy an iPhone, it doesnât change the fact that everything else is trash.
Just because I couldnât use Proton Mail for "reasons,â it doesnât make Gmail not privacy invasive.
Iâm sorry but not everyone life in a first world country.
That still doesnât change anything. If one canât afford a Pixel or an iPhone, it doesnât make other options good, theyâre still bad.
Yeah but some are less bad just because someone have no money doesnât mean he has no rights for privacy.
reminder the video is more about private phone not secure phone.
How will you enforce privacy without security?
For dignal privacy for phones? Get a old 2G nokia 3310 no more Facebook tracking. But no security.
Everything is depending on goals and threat.
Zero security and privacy. Cellular provider will store basically everything, then sell that to others, then leak it when a data breach eventually happens.
Then we also have this:
Yeah everything is depending on goals and threat.
But do you have a score of facebook buying cellular data?
I wonder if PG has a rank of phones with OS hardened for privacy + security.
What about Nokia 3310?
Was more or less just a bait/troll answer.
No one will take Nokia 3310 seriously but I think its a good example of dignal privacy without security. But depending on threat.
I just donât want âthe privacy communityâ to became a box with only 1 answer for anything. Itâs sad.
