Way to get involved and contribute to Privacy Guides News?

Hey all,

I have been deep into the personal privacy/ security rabbit hole for the last 5 years (GrapheneOS, Linux etc). At the same time I have also pursued undergrad and graduate law degrees at European Universities, focusing on technology, data privacy and cybersecurity law. I have done research on the legal/ policy side of privacy and been published. I now work in a tech team at an international law firm.

I was wondering how I could go about contributing to the news section of this site? I feel like it could be a great benefit to have additional content focusing on legal and policy developments in the data privacy/ protection & cybersecurity fields which are translated from legalese into accessible English for a general audience.

I see a lot of misinformation about, for example, the Digital Services Act, General Data Protection Regulation and Chat Control Proposals and I think these are important things for non-legal privacy interested people to understand, as in many cases you have rights under these laws!

I have looked around the site and can’t find any way to contact the team or submit articles. If someone could refer me to a contact person or link, I would be grateful. I am looking forward to the possibility of contributing news content!

Hello! Really cool that you want to contribute your competencies here, especially if you’ve noticed common misunderstandings within your field.

Do I understand correctly that this refers to the news within the News section on the main site, rather than this forum’s General > News ?

Forwarded your question for the upcoming livestream on Friday

In the meantime, maybe @fria can give a quick answer on how to make it a bit more structured than just posting here casually. :+1:t2:
I mean, it’s always a good slow start.

Yes exactly. The news section on the main site was my idea.

Alright awesome. Thanks for that!

Without having checked this, afaik we do not have any openings at the moment.

But as a suggestion why don’t you start out here on the forum in General? If it is well received, who knows what is possible.

It’s not meant to put you off or anything but I think also given you are new here (Welcome btw!) it might help us develop a good idea of what you envision too.

Okay that sounds like an idea. I have been following this project since the privacytools days but have just been lurking. I’ll see what I can do in the forum so long!
