I hate LinkedIn so much so this video resonated with me.

>Created a LinkedIn account

>never used it

>completely empty profile

>shows up when you search my name

>don’t have the email

>don’t know the email

>password resets aren’t coming in to any of my emails

>profile is still up

>ask LinkedIn to delete the profile

>they ask for photo ID >:(

>linkedin profile haunts me forever

It’s not really a big deal for my privacy, but it’s annoying.

This wouldn’t happen now because I password manage thanks to privacyguides.org.

I’m sorry but what do you expect when you’ve done absolutely nothing to prove you own the account?

They should send a confirmation code to the email associated with the account.

I know someone else who is struggling with this. The company they worked for over a decade ago decided it would be a good idea to create LinkedIn profiles on behalf of some of their employees. They, nor their former employer, know what email address was used and obviously don’t have the password. They have put more effort than they have time for into trying to get the profile deleted, short of taking their former employer to court to have them get it removed somehow (something they don’t want to do as they rely on said former employer for business).

That is terrible for someone else to give your information away to create an account for you without your consent.
