I don’t remember seeing a single “smart” washing machine when I was buying mine. Maybe I wasn’t looking hard enough.

Maybe subject region but I also recently bought one and it was 50/50.

One day there won’t be many dumb washing machines you can buy anymore… like with TVs and phones

I have that silly business idea to start making high quality, easily repairable stupid appliances (coffee machine, air fryer, fridge…). It can not be cheap, but it could be made to last (20+ years)

Speed Queen, they make the ones that go in laundromats. They’re a bit pricey but are meant to last for years under hard use and usually have no smart features on them.

There’s also just handwashing your clothes the old fashioned way :soap: You can save some money on your electric bill and the environment.

I honest considered creating a brand new TV that isn’t smart. Focusing only on image quality, reliability and efficiency.
