The Free Software Foundation Europe needs your help!

The EU Commission is considering cutting funding to European free software projects as part of their restructuring and financial review. We spoke with Alex from the FSFE to learn more: https://youtu.be/mNZgSCvg6Ew

Supporting free software projects is crucial for protecting the security of our digital infrastructure, government IT systems, medical information, and even agricultural production. Without financial support for free and open source software projects these systems will continue to fall victim to vendor lock or even lose end-of-life support in the case of older software.

By supporting the use and distribution of free software you are helping to create free platforms that can be configured to meet the exact needs of its users, rather than only the functionality intended by Big Tech providers. Free software sets you free to use, change, and improve it as needed.

Let’s keep making the internet a better place by keeping free software projects alive!

Please take a few minutes to fill out the EU Commission questionnaire and make your voice heard in support of free software: European Commission - Have your say

If you are interested in supporting the FSFE directly you can get involved by making a donation or contributing your time to the mission of spreading free software by volunteering! :point_right: Contribute - FSFE

The news about corruption and the use of EU money for personal profit in some countries are all over the place, and they decide to cut funds for Free Software Foundation? Talk about incompetence.

I suggest we refrain from making accusatory remarks and instead focus on constructive dialogue with the elected authorities.

As citizens of the European Union, it is up to us to decide how to express our views.

That was my view: Incompetence. Please do not tell me what to say and what not as long I am within the forum rules.

What? It’s not that deep, chill the hell out.

I would be happy to do so, provided he does not provoke me.

I have a number of responsibilities, including looking after my parents, elderly relatives and my spouse.

It can be challenging for me to manage these tasks alone, but I do my best.

That’s great, but what random people do on the internet should be the last thing you care about.

In case you’re wondering, I began my investigation of Privacy practics from the ground up and came here after my loved one was subjected to blackmail and the illegal sale of personal information.

I am prepared to do whatever it takes to get to the truth and defend her.

I am confident in my abilities.

They dislike most of my posts I’ve seen them on, it doesn’t matter. They’ve already expressed once for you to not bring them up and this is off topic for this thread. Please stop.

MMA Block is probably getting lost in translation again.

good one, amigo

Didn’t mean that as a joke, as in literal context might have been mistranslated.

They prefer to support other countries on their wars “I won’t mention names” instead of supporting FSFE!
