Not sure if late or already posted but I didn’t saw any source by doing a quick search.
Techlore videos historically are very rarely if ever posted here. Likely because it had a forum and community of its own (not that it wasn’t allowed to post here the same).
But now, we should share more of Techlore’s work here too to get people to engage and learn. His new videos have been really great. Expanding the scope of their reporting on privacy & digital rights more.
Honestly, I’m glad for the pivot. I am still a nerd who cares about the technical side of things and their importance for digital freedom, but purely from a content perspective there are only so many ways you can talk about VPNs before you’ve heard it before. I’m glad to see that creators are picking up on these huge events and not just staying focused on tools and products and personal workflows.
I’m sure even with the pivot, Techlore will continue to focus on consumer apps and privacy tools. I guess better resource management to bring better quality content was the reason to do away with the community which warranted more time which they just didn’t have. And it showed.
So yes, super glad for the new content and looking forward to 2026 from PG and Techlore alike.
I listened to that when I was working last night. I think Henry laid out everything and explained things really well in a very well-paced manner. The on-device scanning stuff that the UK is proposing is exactly why I am hardcore against AI at the operating system and browser levels. Theoretically, if I am using GrapheneOS/LineageOS on mobile and AI-Free Linux on the desktop, I should hopefully be protected and immune to this if it ever gets introduced or discussed in the US.
for the most part yes, but it’s an ever lasting topic that needs constant updates to keep up with the nonsense. ![]()
meanwhile yes, the less control you give away by using hosted cloud services, the less you’ll be bothered in the long run. ![]()
Note: I have no idea if I am in the right of posting this in this thread here, or if it is something that deserves its own thread. Please let me know and correct me if I am wrong to put this here.
I don’t understand how this isn’t a blantant violation of the Fourth Ammendment in the United States since phones should be considered personal property. I don’t care about the “physical vs. digital” debate, as this is still flat-out wrong.
Client side scanning is not news. Apple tried to implement this but backed down. It is a massive privacy violation plus you go in treating everyone as guilty until they keep proving themselves innocent.
Opening people’s eyes to the critical thinking skills necessary related to these important issues is what we need to continue doing.
This creator recommends using WhatsApp. For those reading, please don’t. Signal is the way to go. Their other advice is okay to follow for the most part. See, it’s also equally important to know which info to believe or ignore. No one should follow anyone’s advice 100% of the time. But I did like this video. THanks for sharing.
Alright, thanks so much. I’m glad that I made the right decision on posting it in this thread then. Lol
As far as the topic itself though, these are scary times that we live in.
Techlore also posts their videos on their Peertube called Techlore.TV which is meant for watching their content more privately. And you can still interact there through a Fediverse account like Mastodon : )
