Anyways, the video is about all that we hold dear so please educate yourselves and share. More people should know and talk about this for the uproar it deserves.
For people who watch the video, it is important to note that the journalist is not a subject matter expert of technology itself so not everything she says is accurate nor should it be considered necessarily true. However the discussion of the tech policy and whatnot is important nonetheless and important to understand why such proposed regulations are not going to lead to anything good.
Taylor Lorenz is a really solid journalist, and her Free Speech Friday episodes have cost her sponsors because she really doesn’t hold back on subject matter. She’s fairly well-versed in tech as well, and has experts on as guests. It’s one of the better policy podcasts out there.
Yeah, I don’t disagree there for the most part. She is all that. But when she was talking about anonymity, you have to be careful to claim or say what’s really anonymous or not. And not everything she was saying was technically accurate about/related to anonymity. This is not to say its her fault - not everyone can be well versed with 100% of the things they cover. Just the nature of things.
I only commented mentioning this as an FYI that blind trust with 100% of the things said should not be the rule of thumb, no matter how reputable a journalist is.
But yes, she is a great journalist with great info always.

I haven’t watched this yet, but I am a big fan of Taylor. Her reporting on Big Tech and other important issues are top-notch.
