I am actually quite curious what Switzerland will do in terms of digital payments. The EU is pushing on the digital euro and EPI’s WERO. Would be interesting to learn what the Swiss will choose here and whether they they will decide to stay on American payment infrastructure.
I think I read somewhere a few months ago that Switzerland (or their central bank) plans to pursue their partnership with GNU Taler.
After a quick search it also looks like TWINT is a fairly popular and well accepted payment system in Switzerland. Afaik it’s mostly an alternative payment system so they’re not fully at the mercy of Visa/Mastercard. Which is sadly something most countries don’t have.
