Apple still somewhat controls this so Apple users are in fact screwed

Apple users don’t really own iDevices they purchase, merely rent them. As with all rent-seeking landlords, guess who dictate the rules.

The entire advocacy here for privacy on Apple devices is another “how to avoid the next skiff” in the shadows.
