Its as if repressive regimes doesnt want people to talk in secret. I wonder why.
This reminds of the Brazil/Twitter spat. How does one prepare for these kinds of things before a ban actually happens?
Use Android, or you will just lose access to the apps that are banned in your country because Apple controls what apps you install on iOS.
Also have a VPN or Orbot ready.
The irony is that the superior western democracies don’t seem to want this either (because of the children/terrorists/whatever else excuse). :-/

There’s always factions in democracies advocating for undemocratic and authoritarian policies. The difference is they haven’t taken over and are only a vocal or influential minority.
Straw man argument! First of all there is no “one West” please just show me a private messenger/browser or whatever built in the “opposite camp.”
