Seems Samsung is going to start adopting some security features introduced by Google. https://www.sammyfans.com/2025/04/26/one-ui-8-android-16-could-introduce-a-feature-to-block-usb-devices-on-locked-phones/
Mimicking fraction of GrapheneOS’s power. Still not as secure as GrapheneOS’s implementation.
It’s great to see more companies add security features like this.
True but it’s a great move. Security can always be improved!
One UI 8 though, still >6 months away
Supposedly people in the know are saying that Samsung might release it around July, but take that with a huge boulder made of salt. LOL…
July ? Most Samsung phones haven’t even yet received OneUI 7 !
Hence the huge boulder of salt lol… but yea OneUI7 was a huge release and it seems next release will be an incremental (patch) update, at least thats most of the articles that have had access to the early build of OneUI8 are saying … Samsung OneUI.8.0 - Samsung Members
I wouldn’t trust this post lol. Android 16 will not be stable until May. Samsung isn’t capable of only taking 2 months to follow. Probably more like 6 months. Will see.
Oh I’m not going by just that post, just do a search and you’ll see several posts about it, but yea I agree I don’t see it happening by that time…
I wonder if they plan to fix this too.
