I was looking for the same thing a while ago, and I ended up on Ugreen (though I have not yet purchased anything).
Yap: I first tried looking for EU based brands, but there just wasn’t anything I could truly put trust in. Anker and Ugreen were the obvious choices, and after watching youtube reviews, I chose Ugreen. The reasoning behind this is:
Good prices, especially when on sale (most of the time)
Great, top of the line specs
Reliable (based on reviews)
Ships to EU for cheap or even free
Decent privacy policy
I hate anker
Again, take this with a grain of salt, as I do not own a ugreen product yet, but according to my research, it’s a good choice.
I’ve bought multiple Minix chargers from Amazon that are good. The only reason I bought these is because they came with all the travel adapters and I was going to Europe, but now I still regularly use them.
This is a good question though. I would agree it’s not good to support Anker from a privacy perspective. Even if your charger choice has no direct privacy impact, people should vote with their wallets, and Anker is obviously not a privacy-first company.
I’ve never bought a Ugreen charger, but I have bought Ugreen batteries in the past and they work well.
Just pick from a reputable brand and you should be fine. Do not cheap out with dirt cheap Chinese brands made for the sole purpose of outpricing competitors and maximising profit. Theres few YouTube channel dedicated to dissecting those dirt cheap stuff. Some of them doesn’t even have proper grounded wiring. If god forbid theres short circuit, or lightning then you’ll be human barbeque.
I have never really thought about charging bricks, I just buy random ones in stores. But I use data block cables for everything that uses to USB-C to charge. I don’t really think there are any real privacy benefit for them. But they’re good cables before I bought them I was mainly using the cheapest cables I could find in stores or OEM.
