Recommend some newcomer's privacy forum

… I focus privacy problem since this year , and I don’t have more knowledge about privacy

It look like our forum not welcome newcomer

Is have any privacy theme forum recommend ?

thanks

Can’t speak for the whole community, but this is my warm welcome to you!

Like anywhere cramped with enthusiastic people, discussions could heat up quickly and get overheated, don’t mind that.

Btw, I remember your first post which is about China’s Great Fire Wall. Since most people here have very limited knowledge / experience in Chinese policies and restrictions (and therefore the ways to bypass them), you might want to dial down your expectation a little bit.

But when it comes to something more generic (i.e. less country specific), people here could usually come up with some pretty good suggestions.

Hello again,

We welcome you and I apologize if my response to your previous posts about kicksecure was more aggresive in tone than anticipated.

We are always ready to help but some questions can be way out of our league especially when the question asked in the kicksecure forum even stated it was not possible (maybe extremely difficult?)

But we always want to guide those where we can.

I re read the previous thread, and only found one reply that is perhaps a bit more intense. The rest of the replies seem fair.

Don’t confuse candor with being mean - just because people answer bluntly does not always mean they have bad intentions. You had asked a fair but very technical question, in fact the technicality of it is something I would not expect a newcomer to even be aware of thinking of trying to do.

On this forum, there are some technical people, but advanced topics and setups are usually better left on technical forums. I often redirect users to other forums when the discussion becomes technically domain specific.

The main site has a lot of information on privacy, and a lot to read about. What knowledge do you feel you are missing? Not necessarily technical knowledge.

Since no one mentioned it, you should also know about Techlore’s forum. It’s almost half the size of this forum but people are active there too for you to ask or discuss privacy and tech related things.

That;s a problem

…Actually I think should have someone ask question every week

but more … is technical’s talking

As a Mod of that forum thank you for shouting it out, While not in the extreme of questions for me like noname, we will welcome anyone here..

tbh with you, You should probably reevaluate your threat model with using tools like this
for example in your case: If you think you’re having issues with the Whonix and Mullvad and can’t figure out how to solve it even the community as a whole, If whonix doesn’t have to be in your threat model, Probably can get away with using Secureblue or Arch or otherwise.
Maybe you just want to protect information from big tech? Maybe start by switching to alternatives (like Gmail to Proton, Browser from Chrome to Brave). I think you get the idea…

I Too Agree, This Forum Has Trust Level, I Read The Docs On Discource, Its To Prevent Any Misuse Of Service, But I Still Think Its Too Harsh

I extreme ?

that’s my real feel, is not angry about something

Chill Bro, Just Engage A Little Bit I Am Also A New User, Feeling Lost In Forum

I can’t understand he say me extreme , But I am not angry.

and not like you think about it

If i will understand i will tell u :joy:

No it’s like sure not for me but we still welcome you at techlore nonetheless. I’m just not familiar with Kicksecure and Whonix and that’s fine.

I believe you misread his reply.
