I have received too many spam calls/sms lately on my primary phone number. What’s a good privacy-focused phone number masking strategy? I think I need some new VoIP numbers to start compartmentalizing (friends, family, businesses, burner, etc.). What are your strategies with phone numbers, and what service is recommended?

I recommend simply not answering calls from unknown numbers. In my experience, the vast majority of them are spam. And people I actually want to hear from almost always leave a voicemail or text message after being ignored.
You can configure Android phones to not ring for unknown numbers by using the Do Not Disturb system.
