The world had a big server failure of aws which caused a bad situation as i use signal but signal use aws and i never thought to use something else but now i think it is necessary to have a alternative application.
I find session and simpleX i have been trying both for last 2days and i find session better in terms of smoothness of the app app interface and stuff.

The solution to this is to keep using Signal but perhaps on your own private proxy you set up yourself on a VPS.
If my request explained and described here (Amazon Web Services outage hits several major apps, websites - #8 by JG) will be taken under serious consideration by the Privacy Guides team team, I hope to see a guide from them on how to do this soon.
I continue to recommend Signal. One (small) outage doesn’t warrant abandoning the app/service entirely but there is a solution to use a VPS that is not related to big tech or AWS you can use. It will cost a little but will give you the flexibility and reliability for sure.

Putting this here because we still want to make this forum accessible to everyone even though generative AI is generally banned here.
As @anon57862721 mentioned, please keep on using Signal for the sake of the rather limited network effect it has. No point using a messenger if nobody uses it…right? If decentralization matters more for you, perhaps you can look into other alternatives like Matrix, Briar, or SimpleX. Yes, these apps are not the most polished in terms of user experience, but are there really other alternatives out there?
If you do have specific usage cases, let us know. Matrix could be a good Discord and Slack alternative for example, but SimpleX is great if you really do not want account registration and are planning to contact a specific person. For example, if you’re planning to “force” them to migrate to SimpleX and only chat with them there.
Yes, use of AI is banned here. I hope it was clear but, I only said they may use it to improve what they wrote for others to understand it better (if their English is poor) and not that they only use AI to generate content that does not use their thoughts at all.
As I understand this is still okay, right?
