Privacy-related difference between browser and app access?

Is there any significant privacy difference between using a service’s app or going to their website through a browser?

For my job, I have ChatGPT Pro, but I only access it through a browser on work laptop or personal cell phone. Because of the various privacy protections (browser settings, uBo, VPN) this process can be annoying because I have to confirm I’m human three times or so.

If I download the app to my phone, I can get instant access when I need it.

Will that expose my device to more invasion than going to the site through my browser? Is there a significant difference?

To put it simple, browser access is almost always far less privacy invasive.
With the app you enable them to extract a lot more data from you.

Try using the website version of it even on mobile on a different browser to your primary one entirely.
