Today, we all use QR codes, they are everywhere. I found this app and I think this should/could be included in some section here in PG… Of course, Open source, etc, and the support is great.
The app supports its users in detecting malicious links: QR Codes provide new possibilities for an attacker, as QR Codes can contain malicious links, i.e. links to phishing webpages or webpages from which malware would automatically be downloaded. Therefore it is important to carefully check the link before accessing the corresponding webpage.
Let see, I have never said the software I have recommended was the best and only. It is just an alternative. I didn’t know Binary Eyes, it looks very good, but I like more the UX of QR scanner and QR scanner is focused ON PRIVACY… It is not just a QR Reader/creator. In example QR Scanner doesn’t open a link until you confirm it is safe, or you can even check the “result” on a search engine without execute anything… Among other things…
the QR Code creation is WAY better since it has templates (Text, WiFi, vcard, Geo Location, URL, etc)
has a toggle button
Binary Eyes:
Is faster… by far.
read and creates a lot of code formats. (I am not a QR Code expert so as a final user here, I would not know which format to pick up if I should create a QR core)
So, as I said, fantastic both, neither of them are in the PG list, both should be in somewhere.
