Not to give an off topic response but if you continue thinking and boiling down to understand the root cause of even the imperfect law and courts is human nature at the ground level.
Don’t think we’ve evolved past not being relatively easily be swayed/influenced by our brain’s natural tendency to find patterns which inevitably makes even the circumstantial evidence be akin to undeniable irrefutable evidence. Doesn’t it come down to this in the end?
What’s interesting is I couldn’t find the pricing for this.
They say:
TeamGroup just announced the drive on Thursday and has yet to provide pricing or availability information.
I’m guessing it will be expensive as it will be made in small numbers, no way you’d mass produce this as there would not be the demand.
I discovered several videos on youtube claiming to be reviews, and were just AI slop voices repeating same text from 14 hours ago. One with a man’s voice and one with a woman’s voice. I wouldn’t be surprised.
Even in countries where that’s considered taboo or a problem (and no that’s not China) its unlikely to be particularly useful to anyone even security officials. That sort of information would only really be useful if it was unknown and could be used for reputational damage or some kind of coercion eg if someone had access to classified secrets etc (which I doubt in her case).
She’s also was a public figure (running a popular YouTube channel) so I really seriously doubt that video had anything to do with her making no further videos.
She made a videos after that, including one in 2023. There simply could be many reasons she stopped, the main one I would posit would be that YouTube does not pay very well, which is why a lot of channels run Patreon, member content etc. With her skills she likely found she could make better money in other ways.
A better solution is to invest in some security cameras so you know when whoever it is is coming and not be caught with an unsecured device.
I am not saying her situation warranted to have that kind of device, what I said was
Some place on this earth is really wild, and if you are amoung activist groups, or affiliated with vulnerable groups, you might hold some information that should be destroyed at all cost.
In that video they mentioned she spoke about things like this:
That no doubt would have got their attention as she was talking about it in 2019 and likely were quite annoyed she’d brought attention to that capability. The other privacy related commentary probably didn’t help either, which is sad because she did produce interesting and quality content.
Probably in that situation I’d go with an amnesic solution, where data is offsite.
