Aves Gallery is a really solid option in my opinion and worth taking a look at.

Even with network off, the Photos app still aggressively ask you to backup your photos which is very annoying
It is been a while I used the google gallary app. I think it is a different app than google photos. But since i started using Ente i have not looked at it since.
