Mozilla's "Privacy Not Included" has sunsetted

On August 11th, 2026, Mozilla seems to have sunsetted their Privacy Not Included website. I came across it by chance just now and haven’t seen any other discussion.

They’ve moved to “Nothing Personal”: Nothing Personal, a new editorial platform by Mozilla Foundation - Mozilla Foundation , with a different layout that doesn’t appear to have the same extensive product index and “Most-to-least creepy” sorting that made the former website indispensable.

(The old link is here: https://www.mozillafoundation.org/en/privacynotincluded/
It was still up for a while, but seems to have been emptied by now.

Mozilla says you can still access the archive through the Wayback Machine.)

Personally, I’m not sure why this is. I enjoyed the website as it had been not so long ago, and its easily scrollable, searchable and wide list of products.

Welcoming any discussion!

What I’m most curious about are the reasons and rationale behind this move.

The most prevalent change, to me, is that the immensely useful index of Most-To-Least Creepy is gone, removed by something far more limited and arranged in no particular order.

My instinct is to say that Mozilla might have received some complaints from certain companies, which contributed to this move. But I welcome any weigh-ins from people who may have better ideas!

Unbelievable. I just linked it recently and they pull it.

Rats, your link doesn’t seem to work either!

At this point it might be time for the users to sunset Mozilla.

FFS. Just give us a built-in adblocker like Waterfox instead.

To be honest, it may just be extremely low metrics on those pages.

To exemplify, this is the first I’ve heard of the website.

Disappointing, but had been stagnant for a long time.
