Monero wallet remote nodes

The privacy guides recommendations say the following about using a remote node with a monero wallet

Using another person’s node will expose some information to them, such as the IP address that you connect to it from, the timestamps that you sync your wallet, and the transactions that you send from your wallet (though no other details about those transactions).

So my question is, can the remote nodes only see these things while I am currently using them? Say I was connected to remote nodes previously or on a different device, and then make a transaction while using a local node. Will the remote nodes be aware of that purchase? I assume the answer is no but wanted to make sure.
