Mobile Device for Sustainable Privacy Practices?

I’m not sure how to better word the title, so please forgive me.

I’ve been using GOS for about 3 years and I love it. A few apps don’t work, but it’s fine. I use Windows for work and my masters program, and Ubuntu at home. I have pretty hygenic privacy practices for a normy, but I’m curious about moving forward in light of of Google is doing to eliminate alternative OSs.

I can buy a Pixel tablet and put GOS on there, but what if Google takes a major step and creates a major hurdle for GOS to overcome? I know I can take an approach where I use a basic phone only for phone and maybe signal, and a laptop for everything else, but a laptop seems cumbersome to EDC in real life. So, that brings me to tablets? Or mini PCs? Or?

What are good alternatives to use for browsing and light downloading in the future scenario with GOS is compromised or other wise not as usable as it is today?

Tiny laptop with Fedora? Or, am I overreacting to the Google moves? Will GOS realistically be around for a while?

Yes. There’s no reason to think GOS is going anywhere. Google has done nothing that can/would kill the project

Nice to hear.
