Linux GUI vs CLI Updates

I am not sure whether I should use the “software” GUI to update my Linux apps or the terminal.

The GUI includes RPM and Flatpak updates, if something like the Kernel gets updated, it requires a restart, that results in a special installation screen, that I never get if I update with the command line.

The GUI doesn’t include snap for some reason, if I want to update it, I have to use the command line.

What is better for updating?

I am on Fedora by the way, for the case its important.

Why are you using Snap on Fedora?

Edit: I’m not on Fedora but if you can manage to update all your system via GUI I don’t think there is a problem to keep doing it.

The GUI is fine. The only thing to really consider is that some package managers will fairly frequently have notes following upgrades regarding changes you may need to manually perform. If the GUI doesn’t present these to you, that could be a problem at some point. This is probably more of an issue with rolling release distros though (I don’t usually use Fedora, so not sure how common it is there).

Presumably the reason it doesn’t include snap is that snap is pretty much only used on Ubuntu and Ubuntu derivatives. Also, unsure if this is still a problem, but last I heard the sandboxing for snap on non-AppArmor distros (like Fedora) was basically nonexistent.
