Congradulation. Its nice too see this community grows.
I have a few question regarding the previous amd new workload. The blog post announces 20 hours / week paid time to work on privacy guides community and Knowleges base. What were the unpaid time put before this change ? I hope that all your work hours on privacy are now paid with this and youre not doing 20 ouf of 40 paid.
I’m mostly interested to see if there is going to be an acceleration of content here, or if the content will be simply … Hummm… More happy since the workforce behind it is acknowledged with paid hours.
lol I don’t even want to know what the volunteer hour count is.
Well, the general idea is that I can dedicate a set schedule of time every day M-F to work on this stuff. Even if the volunteer hours I’d put in were similar in quantity before, I felt that we’d probably benefit from ~4 hours every day than like… three 12 hour days every 3-4 weeks or something, whenever I could find free time from my job and other responsibilities.
Everybody on the team contributes a lot of time, but the nature of volunteer works means it’s very bursty/sporadic. Very common for someone to work hard on a lot of changes, then take a break for weeks or even months. If there’s something we want to do regularly though, host a weekly show for one example, it seems unfair to make any volunteer take on those expectations.
