Alternative frontends like SearxNG, Invidious, or Whoogle are good for privacy. But for a self-hosted instance with only one or few users using it, I’d guess every query is transformed into another query that is done by the backend, and so Youtube for example will know that specific instance is requesting videos related to topic X. If it’s a public instance, user’s queries will mix with other thousands queries, so no profile can be built. But what about self-hosted?
Or maybe I’m misunderstanding how the alternative frontends work…?
