Hello, basically as i’m title, i wonder if Free version of Portmaster (from Safing.io) will be better option than Windows Firewall on my Windows? To harden it and have more control, security, próbach.
Portmaster would be better. It’s also easy to enable encrypted DNS of your choice with it. But depending on the type of control you’re envisioning here, you’ll have to choose the right tool for it.

These are two separate tools with some overlap. But Portmaster is an application firewall focused on restricting outgoing traffic from your apps. A regular firewall like Windows Firewall is usually for blocking inbound connections. One does not replace the other. You can use both at the same time.

I tested it now, but i need to go back to default Windows firewall. Portmaster unfortunately don’t work alongside with my VPN, even through openvpn. Tried even to allow everything but still not working.
