Is location spoofing useless?

It seems that the privacy enthusiasts aren’t that interested in location spoofing. Most of the focus is on tools such as operating systems, browsers, alternatives to common services like email or cloud storage and so on. I haven’t seen anyone discussing location spoofing. Does that mean location spoofing is useless?

Depends on the situation and how thorough you want to be. In a browser, things like your time zone and language can give away where you’re from even if you have a VPN. Tor browser tries to make everyone look the same and changes the time zone to be uniform but it’s not perfect. Is there anything specific you’re referring to or just in general?

I’m thinking in general. I don’t see it discussed often. Are there any scenarios where spoofing the location makes sense and is used in the privacy community?
