Is it ok to use only 1 browser on my pc?

I use my PC with an always on VPN. Sometimes when i go to certain food order or government websites i use my real identity anyway so i disconnect from the VPN for the website to work.
After that i connect to the vpn and start browsing again. I guess any trackers that were not blokced linked my browser fingerprint to my real IP.
Is this ok?

Before that i used 2 browsers - 1 for my logins and 1 for browsing.
But is it ok for privacy if i only use 1 browser, does anyone use only 1 here?

I highly you read up more on compartmentalization. Switching off your VPN (and using your real identity) won’t mean that much if you use the same browser.

If you don’t need two browsers, it’s probably better because each new browser installed is massive attack surface.

You can but then I would recommend you to look “Profiles” and utilise specific profiles for specific use cases.

It will be a sweet spot between compartmentalisation and your idea of using single browser.

That is true and is a very good direction to many. In my case, I always need a second browser because there are some websites that may have a hard time to work in a specific browser and I need to check if it may work in the “backup” browser. Which normally works and it ends saving the day.
