I was looking to get a new sports recording camera, and the Insta360 x5 camera looks pretty solid. However, I did some research, and they are owned by a Chinese company with some pretty rough privacy and security controversy.
Is it possible to use this camera (not the app) privately? Or is this basically a DJI drone-type situation, where you really can’t avoid that?
If you don’t connect it to WiFi and Bluetooth, you can use it as an offline bare bones camera with whatever it can do without these connections. If not, then depends on your threat model.
