I'm Getting Into Mesh Networks... (Meshtastic, MeshCore, and Reticulum)

For me this tech is useless. Too low nodes, too low power, too low possibilities.

I like autonomous networks too, but far more useful is Motorolla portable radio station. I have one with me and my girlfriend.

many people already have it (for ex security), it will help you call for help (if you know frequencies, in my country there is special frequencies just for that), encrypted.

Here is specs of mine

! You have a P25 radio. First time I see a citizen having one.

I am am radio-amateur, but does not have the money for p25.

One thing you did not provide, is what frequency you use, because the discussion is for LORA wich in norh America use 902-928 ISM Band that in most case can be use legaly under 1 watts.

have you though, instead of getting an FCC commercial licence, to use hamradio HF band ?

You could communicate to hundred of kilometers with thoses.

136-174 MHz. As i experimented it have the best coverage.

Regarding money, yeah, too expensive. But it was a gift.

You can go with Baofeng for example

The amateur radio band (2meters) is 144-148 MHz. 136-174 is the full VHF band.

Would you share in wich country you live ? because I have a hard time understanding how you operate.

That’s exactly my use case as well. I’m developing a star-mesh network for a group in my town. Reticulum is exactly the backhaul I was looking for. I’m currently working on a jig to mass produce antennas for this project. Is this a solo project or are you looking for (or already a part of) a working group? I’m definitely interested in what you’re doing and will follow along!

@wwayers how far are we from myself and a friend being able to buy an off-the-shelf transceiver of some sort, plug it into our Android devices and send Reticulum messages to each other over RF (completely plug and play)?

My estimates, and the plug and play would not likely be a commercial product but a homelab/hobby one, this year.

Does anyone know where to find the signing certificate hash for the Sideband apk or know another way to verify the download on device?
