If you were to recommend an Ubuntu-based distro for privacy, which one would you recommend?

For a variety of reasons, I need to install an ubuntu-based distro on a newish computer. What do you think is the most secure? I’m currently thinking Mint is the choice.

Ubuntu (or another *buntu).

If not Ubuntu then Pop!_OS after their next major release and cosmic hits stable (assuming secure boot support and wayland support are present–they are expected to be).

Mint wouldn’t be my recommendation for a security/privacy focus (but its a solid option for a beginner friendly general purpose distro). But it wouldn’t be a bad choice by any means. Just a mild downgrade from its upstream (Ubuntu).

Seconding regular ol’ Ubuntu (either with GNOME or KDE for Wayland support).

Mint is not the most secure. Ubuntu ships with AppArmor Mandatory Access Control which Mint doesn’t ship with iirc.

Any reason why you don’t want to stick with a regular install of Ubuntu? I’m trying to figure this out for myself so it’s a legitimate question.
