Greetings all,
Does any one know how private it is to use Obsidian Publish for creating websites?
These are examples of Obsidian websites:
- START HERE - Discrete Structures for Computer Science - Obsidian Publish
- https://obsidianttrpgtutorials.com/

Privacy from Obsidian
For those who know, what are the payment options for Obsidian (I can’t seem to find it without an account)? From what I can assume, the most private way to pay is going to be with a virtual card. Some additional tips: use an email alias for an account; if you don’t want Obsidian to know your IP, use a VPN; if you are concerned with fingerprinting, use a private browser whenever you access your account on the website.
Another question: Has any one read their privacy policy?
Privacy with Obsidian
Now the main part of the post. Are there any privacy concerns with using Obsidian to make something like a blog? I imagine that it might be easier for me because I don’t need to be concerned with WHOIS (since we can use the default publish.obsidian.md domain), but I don’t actually know. Is there any thing else I should be concerned with if my goal is to compartmentalize my identity? I am not demanding full anonymity from Obsidian, but that the average, every day person within my audience can’t link the blog to me. Does Obsidian offer that?
Thanks you
