Wonder if Salt Typhoon’s infiltration could push the GSMA, Apple and Google to add E2EE to carrier calls.
Truly sad how carrier infrastructure is a privacy and security nightmare.
Google Fi offers E2EE calls between their subscribers on Android. It’s on the carriers to implement though, not Apple or Google.

Sadly Google Fi doesn’t provide service in Europe 
. Also most carriers in my country have terrible security practices, they don’t implement anything unless they are forced to or it is profitable.
Given how RCS Universal Profile now has E2EE as part of the specification, maybe there is still hope for E2EE carrier calls.
