Is it possible for cellular service providers to tap on their subscribers conversations?
I mean straight from their headquarters somehow, without the involvement of the known methods like using an application/software installed on the target cellular telephone, or a physical device attached to a landline telephone?
Traditional telephone calls should be end-to-end encrypted already. It should be the standard for telephone conversations, it’s something really disappointing that we can’t count on this yet. I wonder if it will be possible someday in the near future.
“Possible” and “going to happen” are different things. Especially with the current censorship efforts happening globally, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Signal is great for E2EE calls - the hard part is just getting others to join you.
@hashcatHitman I agree with you, under this global censorship happening right now and surveillance nightmare it’s hard to believe it’s going to happen.
