Rn I’m at a hotel and I got a question.

I connected to their WIFI(VPN was on dw) and it opened some un-secure redirect page to open their log in. Is that a bad thing or is that a common practice? Because I also saw it said,“Enhanced Open” on the thing. The main thing I am wondering is if I screwed up, but I don’t think I did as it seemed legit because the card said the exact name. Idk, you tell me.

The connection might be “insecure” because the login page is in the intranet and it doesn’t have a valid HTTPS certificate. It’s a common practice. There is a possibility you’ve tried to log into an “Evil twin” wifi, but that’s much less probable.

Privacy is important, but do not panic. It won’t do you any good.
