Hi all -
I’ve been considering replacing my mesh WiFi router system. I searched around the forum and didn’t see any threads on this topic so I wanted to start one.
Looking for suggestions for high privacy and security options.
Wirecutter’s current recommendations are Eero (terrible for privacy, Amazon owns it) and TP-Link which is apparently being investigated by the US government for something about Chinese back doors. So that’s out of the question.
I currently have a high end mesh system with two access points. I’m using ASUS Zen WiFi XT8 / AX6600.
(You might ask why I’m considering switching. Partially because I cannot for the life of me get the handoff between the two to happen smoothly despite lots of config and placement tweaking. For the sake of this thread staying on topic, let’s just assume that I’m replacing my current WiFi system.)
