There are some search matches but not much to go on. Should I be worried about privado since they also offer free service with paid service?
Almost all the review sites obviously shill the highest paying affiliate vpn (shark, that hong kong one, some others)
Sure mullvad, but can i run my casual web traffic with webmail and forums through privadovpn?
They’re not very trusted, nor very fast, nor work perfectly for avoiding geoblocking. I’d only use this if I was broke and could absolutely not trust my own internet provider for some reason.
If they are giving it away for free with another paid service, you are the product or they are using it as a loss leader to upsell you later. PrivadoVPN is decent for casual browsing and unlocking streaming, but I wouldn’t trust it for anything sensitive. It’s fine for forums and webmail, just don’t use it for banking or torrenting.
It does at least seem to be no logs and legally based in Switzerland, which at least has laws to your benefit in terms of enforcing their privacy policy and protecting against other jurisdictions.
My risk model with VPN is more along the lines of having something when I’m on public networks.
There seems to be enough going here that I would probably use it and not pay for something else.
If I was paying for the VPN myself, I’d probably get something else.
