Google introduces dystopia for privacy & security enthusiasts

The gall of Google to think this is the future we all want. And the blatant effort to shape the tech industry and future with the narrative that all AI is good for all - how stupid do they think their users are?

I felt disgusted watching this video. Anyone else?

Thinking about this more, I think a more accurate title for the OP could have been “Google introduces new ways to enshittify life itself” - especially when it came to creative work and use of AI in cases and situations where accuracy is paramount.

for several times now google has claimed huge things (what comes to mind is ai assistant a couple of years back, and same gemini too) only for it to turn out to be.. well… fake.
just straight up fake. a “vision” of a product, as they say later in apologising posts.

So i’d wait a couple of days/weeks first to see how much truth there was in current presentation, before starting to get concerned)

I think the time to be concerned is when a giant advertising monopoly announces an idea that can be crippling to our rights and privacy, not after it is already made.

true, it already feels like people on facebook are one day away from getting personalized video ads with themselves in it
