Getting similar functionality to chromium's `--app` with firefox

I want to ditch the chromium browser that I’ve been using for webapps and move to a FF browser. Firefox has a --kiosk option but that locks the browser to full screen mode. I don’t need full PWA functionality, I just need an equivalent to --app. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

i am not sure what the --app flag does but firefox does support installing websites as web apps right from the UI. no need to use flags.

edit: my bad, seems like that’s a floorp feature

On the desktop? How? I don’t see this anywhere in the UI

I don’t believe that’s true. Firefox famously has no support for PWAs, it’s a common complaint around here.

I may try Floorp out for this purpose, then. Thanks!

Sounds like whatever Floorp implemented could meet OP’s needs, but does anyone know if it is actually true PWA support? The last comment made in the discussion on PWAs on Floorp’s github includes:

the current implementation is simply a website shortcut added to os applauncher.

I’m not sure I’m interpreting it correctly, but it doesn’t sound like true PWA support. However I don’t think the person who made the comment is a floorp developer, and one of the developers does refer to PWAs specifically (though they wouldn’t be the first to misuse the term PWA).
