Gadgetbridge compatible Smartwatch with good sleep and health tracking?

Hello,

I am looking quite a while for a smartwatch that is compatible with Gadgetbridge and also has good sleep and health tracking from which the data gets correctly transfered to Gadgetbridge.
Can someone recommend me something please?

question how much of a tinkerer are you from none to “I am a tinkerer”

You may want to look at Amazfit as most watches on that page are highly supported,

there’s (mostly) 2 catches which is why is best we wait for OP to answer first.

I pre-ordered a Pebble Watch.
I do love the fact that it can last an entire month, have the bare minimum, relaxing E-ink screen and is embraced by an apparently lovely community passionate about FOSS.

Also fully compatible with Gadgetbridge from day one. :star_struck:
The CEO also looks kind and apparently cares about real things (no AI salesman or whatever).
It might flop. Will not be as refined as an Apple Watch Ultra but hey, I do value some points over others more. Would be a perfect match for GOS and some basic healthy metrics IMO. :+1:t2:

PS: you can hack the hell out of it and have something playful and fun.
Gosh that one is a thing most company are loosing nowadays.

Besides that, Garmin maybe? Their support on Gadgetbridge looks subpar and their software as a whole is not the best from what I saw. But, it’s some kind of well known brand if you also need to have something a bit more rugged. :hugs:

PS2: Pine or Bangle also look like decent solutions.

I mean the CEO actually was the one who founded Pebble before it went on a rollercoaster then somehow just came back like as if somehow the sunk titanic was revived.

The question remains as Gadgetbridge isnt necessarily one click ready to go on all watches

I’m currently considering buying the Amazfit Helio band. It’s sleep and fitness tracking is top tier. It uses Zepp OS, which should have good compatibility with Gadgetbridge. If not, I will just use Zepp app without network permission.

I kind of like the idea of wearing a band on your biceps, because this allows you to wear a classic watch on your wrist, while also tracking your stats. But if that is not your cup of tea, I’m sure Amazfit has some great watches to offer. My current one is an Amazfit Bip, I have been using it for 6 years and it has amazing compatibility with the open-source Gadgetbridge app.

I think that thanks to the community it might not be that hard to flash even if you’re not super tech savvy. Seeing how easy it is to flash GOS on a Pixel, I think that a single YT video with a QR code in the box is all you might need for a working Pebble.

Also, privacy will always have more friction that your go-to proprietary device.

But yes, also depends if you want:

  • just bare metrics of heart rate, sleep tracking etc
  • a smartwatch that does a bit more

I heard that Garmin watches work good with gadgetbridge but I am not sure right now
